Pink hair.

The adventure of a life time. Pink hair will get you guys yelling from there car saying how they would do you.
Woot... True story. Anyways, I dyed my hair pink! Not for lolita, but, just because I could. I was actually going to dye it a natural dark brown. But, As you probably can guess by now, I'm extremely indecisive. So, I made my friend pick for me. She picked 'Bubble Gum Pink' by the brand 'N' Rage'

Sorry. No makeup. Only glasses.

I turned out very even! I really love it, but, I don't think will dye it pink again. I will just stick to natural colors...
Because the first time we tried this we left it in for 30 minutes even thought the bottle said 15, and we rinsed it out in hot water, but, it turned out a weird sherbet sunset kinda color. It was pink on the top faded to orange, and at the bottom is was blonde.
Hope you enjoyed it.

Meow Meow's Wonderland.

You can find amazing things, if you look close enough!

As my last post stated, my mother and I went out garage sale-ing, and this is one of the cutest things I've ever found! The box was misleading, it was a stainless steal frying pan, which my mother was looking for.
But, we she opened the box, this is what we found!
From above it doesn't look like much, but, with a closer look, the cuteness is over whelming!

*Click for a closer look*
But, the mysterious thing is, no ones knows what these are. I googled 'Meow Meow's wonderland' and a few forums came up with a identification question on this item, about the brand, or what the name of these toys are. All that came up was play sets and Japanese bidding sites...  The only thing I found out was that the bears were from a different alternative set called 'Teddy's Wonderland'. I remember having a set of these dolls when I was tiny, it was just a house with a fence, and an ice cream stand. There were two cats, and three bears. I'm so glad I found these. Ah, I have a privileged childhood.
Also, a few other things that just don't seem to fit in came with the set. A second ice cream stand, a red picnic table, what ever that aquamarine thing is... But the red  heart chairs are really cute, you gotta admit.

Unicorn dress! (Sheet to Chic 1)

From sheet to chic! (Corny much?)
I have a quick tip for all you crafty lolitas on a budget.
Use sheets to make dresses!

I found this adorable lilac unicorn sheet at St. Vincent Depaul for $1.29 when my mother and I went out garage sale-ing (I also found some G1 My Little Ponies, and got a fantastic lolita blouse from a five family garage sale, pictures later!).

Awhile back for my first convention I wanted to do something casual so I made my own lolita dress from a Simplicity pattern my mother bought me, and that's really how I got into sewing my own lolita clothes. The dress pattern was a little off. It was an empire waist dress, which wasn't very flattering on me...
I made another dress a few months after the convention using the same pattern, but, making the bodice of the dress longer. This worked very well. So, for this dress I used the same trick.
Now the unicorn fabric is a little thin, Which isn't a problem for the skirt if you are wearing a white petticoat, but, for the bodice, it is more a problem. (Also hemming rounded edges is a pain) So I lined the bodice with a light pink fabric which matched the roses on the fabric.
I used a straight piece of fabric, measure how long I wanted it, and added six inches (four inches for the scallops, you have to fold over the fabric and two for seem allowance).
Then I scalloped the bottom, ironed the scallops  and top stitched them, that way they would keep there shape.

I added crinoline from an old failed attempt at a petticoat (That 'thing' was awful. Ick.I'm glad the fabric is going to good use!)
After words I hand stitched the three buttons on. I was having a hard time figuring out how I wanted to do the lace on the bust. I have tried almost all styles of lolita bodices. So this was hard for me. I didn't know what to do or which style I liked better! I eventually decided on a bib look... I'm still not sure if I like it this way... First world problems. (^^I actually decided against the lace used in the image above^^)

 ^^Finished product^^
First time doing detachable waist ties and sheared back (that way it would be more form fitting). I really like how this turned out! This is probably my favorite dress so far. If the skirt was made shorter and was a little less ruffled, this could make a very nice fairy kei dress.
Making dresses for $1.29 like a lady.

I hope you enjoy this tip!
P.S. There will be more posts like this with different sheets. It may even become it's own section of the blog.

Genertion Q

My father works or GQ, and recently (well, more like five months ago) informed me on my new job.
I am now a junior editor, and I have my own column! All the things I will be doing will be Lolita inspired. Bring a little Lolita to everyday crafting, you could say! <3
I'm so excited for this! For the first issue I got to do it with my best friend who was visiting from Missouri. Fun times.
My birthday is coming up (July 30th), I am planning a huge birthday bash! Well... Huge as in ten people. Haha... Forever alone... Anyways, I was planning on teaching the other girls how to do some crafting. I'll defiantly take pictures! Also, charades. Gosh, I love charades! Maybe only because I'm good at it...

Also, my Pinkie Pie Gala dress is coming along nicely. I have the main dress finished, I saving up for a petticoat, and I need to work on the bolero jacket and finding/editing shoes. Anyone know how to make Pinkie's hat? She has a kind of sailor hat. As you can see from the picture above. Akicon will be perfect this year!

How I celebrated~

As you know from my last post, today is National Lolita day!
☺♦♥~YAY~♥♦☺\(^0^)/ ~(*0*~)(~*0*)~ WOOT WOOT.
Pardon my over enthusiasm, but, this is my first time celebrating so, I did it the only way I knew how;
HAVING A TEA PARTY!
I planned a lolita meetup to have a picnic in a park near by, but.. it didn't happen, everyone canceled.
But, I wasn't going to let it get me down. Even if  I was disappointed, it was still going to be a fun day.
So my mum and I had a tea party in our tea house (I'm very lucky to have my own elegant tea house!).
My brother decided to join us, and we all sat together, laughed, and had a good time drinking tea, and eating sandwiches. But, I wanted to share my good time with you!
And, so, here are some pictures of my little party!

A delectable array of food by my mum and I.
Lovely chairs from a community garage sale!
Sippin' Chai tea~ Mmmh! My favorite! <3
 Darn it, all gone ;n;
 Oooh! Cakes!
"Good day, sirs and madams!"
Hime lolita today! Heehee~

I hope you had fun! Enjoy today, and the rest of the year. Smile on my beautiful girls!
